A Grand Gala!

Oregon State University is now publicly in campaign mode. We are going to raise $625 million by June 30, 2011. That sounds amazing, but believe it or not, OSU is basically the last Pac-10 school to participate in a campaign. And our goal is nothing like the several billion dollars Harvard and others shoot for.

To start the campaign off and to tell our closest friends and donors about it, we had a public event and also a black-tie $150/plate dinner for over 500 guests! I was in charge of the valets and basically was a guest services greeter. Here is my super stellar team.
If you don't go to OSU, these pictures may not mean much to you. But if you do or did, then you will notice what a transformation the MU went through for this event. Below are pictures of The Commons which is where all the fast food usually is. Completely curtained off and hidden.And here is the main MU lunge, which is usually covered in multi-colored (and ancient!) couches. What a difference!
They even pressure washed the outside for us. And if you didn't see the tent, it covered 2/3 of the quad!!!!The event was fantastic and hopefully set a great pace for our campaign.
