My boy - 3 years old

My boy turned three today. He never ceases to amaze me. He can be the sweetest and the funniest. Then he can make me remember that he is 3! He loves music and loves to dance. I have never been so frustrated or grateful for a person at the same time in all my life. He can say and appropriately use nearly any word you say in front of him. He picks fights for no obvious reason then smiles because he is messing with me on purpose. An example - for a week at our house, he insisted it was Tuesday, March 2nd (they review the day/date every day at school). After several days of insisting seriously that it was still the 2nd, on Friday he argued with me and then broke out in giggles and admitted it was Friday, March 5th. Another perfect example is here.

He is tall, slender but muscled, and has the cutest belly button. He finally pooped on the potty for the first time today and loves Pez as a reward. Or to tell Sean or his cousin Spencer that he did it. Oh, the simple things in life! Watching him play with his daddy and hearing them read books and making sounds together is the most precious thing ever.

He wants nothing more than to constantly cuddle with mommy but asks for daddy whenever I say or do something he doesn't like. Whenever he is getting in a lot of trouble, we often need to rethink what we are doing and adjust our actions and put the laptop away, whether we were on it for school, work, or fun. Once we do that, he amazingly becomes the friendly and fun little boy again, minding what we say and trying to do everything right. He loves Sunset Park playground or neighborhood walks. He is starting to get along with Riley and she acknowledges his existence and is starting to mind him. He is for the most part kind to his baby sister and also very protective of "his Abby". He loves her yet still gets his jabs in.

He loves to help with everything and is actually pretty good at cracking eggs, helping to "cook" (stirring), washing dishes and putting them away. He loves his extended family and talks about them daily. He sometimes hates having his picture taken - other times he is a huge ham.

He is MUCH smarter than me and I am in for it. I love you baby boy! ("No, I'm a big kid!")
