The PERFECT Mother's Day

Mother's Day 2008 (May 11th)

We had a tough time getting going, but finally arrived at Pancakes and Prayer with Paula and Rob Siegel. The Man loves breakfast there because they always have fresh blueberries! We learned our lesson though and stripped him down to his diapy for the meal. This time, the Siegel's granddaughter, Athena Olivia, was visiting, so he had someone to hang out with. He was a bit crabby though and I don't think she minded when we left!
We then headed for fish and chips on the coast (chicken strips and fries in my case!) and to play on the beach. This was our first trip to the beach since the Man became mobile and he loved it. He beelined for the water from 2 football fields away! I find it interesting that he wasn't really into the sand and even seemed to not like getting dirty. He was really into the water.

I put some pix below and also a long video (about 7 minutes) of the man playing around. It is several smaller clips jammed together with my crude/absent editing skills, so bare with me. It probably will only be interesting with sound and if you haven't seen the Man in a few months. He is perfectly him in this video tho - always on a mission, walking/running every where. His expressions are a great representation of him.

We ended our day by rushing back to Corvallis for our first co-ed softball game of the season. We are playing on the Squirrel's team this year and are having a lot of fun with our crew. We went out to Block 15 for dinner and beer after.

It was the perfect day!
