Benjamin turned 7 weeks old today. The time is just flying by! I don't want to go back to work! And we are only getting up once or twice to eat at night now. It is so nice!
This week, we attended our friend Stephanie's baby shower. Benjamin was one of two babies there and had a great time being held by everyone. He was awake for the first half hour or so and then slept the rest. I got to see some co-workers and friends that I haven't seen in quite a while. It was very nice.

When we got back from the baby shower, Grandpa and Grandma Hennan had arrived. They stayed in town for two nights and we had fabulous visits. They even watched Paul play volleyball on his Parks and Rec team. They played well, but still lost.

We've got it all under control...

... Or maybe not.... Where's mom?

After a long day with grandparents....

See, deep down, they really are Beaver fans.

On Tuesday, Benjamin and I went to our Live and Learn class. We started going to the class that has become the infant one in the afternoon instead of the toddler one in the morning. We saw Abby and Irma there. Both had been a speaker at one of our natural childbirth classes. (Abby had made a DVD of her complete birth and she showed it to us in great detail. Irma is a doula and also a dog trainer and had provided lots of information on doulas as well as helping both your dog and baby to be safe. It was fabulous info.) At our class, we also had a guest speaker talk about signing with your baby. Her son turned out to be deaf so signing has become a way of life. Most people in our class want to do it to help 1.5-2 year-olds communicate, but for them, it was a way of life. It was really neat to see it in action.
