Wine Tasting in Napa Valley

The last full day of our trip was spent driving through Sonoma and visiting any wineries that came up on a google search for free tastings in our area and were rated 4-5 stars. We visited some amazing properties - some made us feel more welcome than others with a 2 year old, but we made the best of it. My dad and Paul would get to go into the winery and we would hang outside or in the gift shop trying not to cause trouble. Some of those properties are absolutely AMAZING.

Our most favorite was Tin Barn. The lady serving was so fun and entertaining and the wine actually ended up being our favorite as well. Although the tasting wasn't on the winery property - they make it at an industrial complex but have a lovely tasting room. I highly recommend it if you are ever in the area.

We took a break mid-day and went to Sonoma Train Town Railroad. What a cute place! I would say it is comparable (althogh smaller) to Enchanted Forest in Salem. It is this cute unassuming place that as you spend more time there, you discover more neat features. They charged nothing for admission - just $4 each if you wanted to ride the train and then tickets if you went on any of their carnaval rides. The train ride covered their entire 10 acres and stopped in a old-town type set-up (of course the camera was in the car - we didn't expect all that!) with a petting zoo. Benjamin loved it!
We finished off the night with the Man opening his birthday presents from my dad. He got a great rug for his train set, a bear travel puzzle, and a ginormous barnyard puzzle. Can you see the size of those pieces in the picture below?! The whole puzzle is 2 feet by 3 feet and there is only 24 peices. It is still one of his favorite things to play with!
